Heavy metals are present in the soil but their concentration depends on the impact of human or natural activities that were executed in the past. These heavy metals are being absorbed by plants, but not every plant absorbs as much of these heavy metals.
The presence of heavy metals has to be checked with the limits that have been established in the European legislation.
